Spartanburg Real Estate

Spartanburg County is nestled in the Piedmont region of South Carolina. Its centralized location in the upstate provides for quick and easy access to the Great Smokey Mountains of neighboring North Carolina. Spartanburg residents enjoy a mild year round climate.
 
Spartanburg was founded in 1831 and was named after the Spartan Rifles, a revolutionary war militia. Spartanburg was known early in American history for its cotton production and peach crops.
 
Today, Spartanburg is home to many corporate headquarters. During the past two decades the county has become the chosen site of more than 90 firms representing 15 different countries. These domestic and international industries and business opportunities have enabled Spartanburg to become one of the largest cities in South Carolina.
 
Spartanburg County is divided into seven school districts. Each district offers a wide variety of programs such as special education classes, gifted courses, computer training, foreign languages, music, chorus, sports, and vocational programs. Spartanburg is also home to eight colleges and the SC School for the Deaf and Blind.
 
There are many recreational and historical attractions in Spartanburg, including parks, lakes, golf courses, and movie theaters. In addition, Spartanburg is proud of the new Chapman Cultural Center which provides of variety of entertainment including museums, dance, art and theater. Spartanburg is also host to the NFL Carolina Panthers’ summer training camp and the BMW Visitors center.
